Dannie Abse

Dannie Abse (1923-2014) was a Welsh poet and physician who is well-known for his contributions to both literature and medicine. He was a prolific writer who authored over 20 volumes of poetry, as well as numerous plays, novels, and essays.

As a physician, Abse specialized in pulmonary medicine and worked as a chest specialist in London. His experiences as a doctor often informed his writing, and many of his poems explore themes related to illness, healing, and the human body.
