Femur Shaft Fracture Causes And Prevention

Femur Shaft Fracture is a bone fracture caused by a force applied to the femoral shaft in a posterior direction. The most common causes of the fracture are fallen from a height, motor vehicle accidents, and sports-related injuries. Other causes include blunt injury to the pelvis, hip, or knee.

The likelihood of this type of fracture can be reduced by following safe practices when engaging in certain activities such as wearing long sleeves when engaged in contact sports, staying within one’s limits during physical activity, and avoiding alcohol consumption before playing sports.
